ECA Foundation extends Executive Advisory Board

The ECA Foundation has extended its Executive Board. We are pleased to inform you that David Cockburn has accepted our invitation to join the ECA’s Executive Board with immediate effect.

David Cockburn, who joined the Board of the ECA Foundation’s European QP Association in 2017, has extensive experience in the Pharma Industry, having worked for five years at GD Searle and Glaxo Operations in regulatory affairs and manufacturing roles respectively. He joined UK’s MHRA as a Principal Medicines Inspector conducting inspections in UK and globally for 14 years. He then joined the European Medicines Agency (EMA), with a number of GMP-related roles becoming Head of Manufacturing and Quality Compliance and consequently Chair of the GMP/GDP Inspectors Working Group. “David is a very important addition to the Executive Board”, said Afshin Hosseiny upon his nomination. “With David’s support we will be able to strengthen our links with the EMA and other global regulators ensuring our drive towards harmonisation of standards.”

At the latest meeting, the Executive Board also decided to extend the involvement of the members of the Extended Board – comprising the Heads of the various Interest and Working Group’s – in developing the Foundation’s future direction and objectives. A special meeting for the whole group will be arranged shortly to initiate these discussions.
